Nesta edição, dois filmes exploram a intrusão como força invisível que perturba, corrói e desestabiliza.

Em Caché, de Michael Haneke, a ameaça surge sob a forma de cassetes de vídeo anónimas deixadas à porta de uma família burguesa. O que começa como um mistério transforma-se numa espiral perturbadora de paranoia e culpa. O olhar fixo da câmara – frio, distante, quase impessoal – transforma o quotidiano num campo de suspeita permanente, e Haneke constrói um terror moral e psicológico onde o fora de campo é tão inquietante quanto aquilo que vemos ou julgamos ver.

Já em Personal Shopper, de Olivier Assayas, a intrusão assume contornos espirituais e tecnológicos. Entre mensagens de texto, silêncios e espaços vazios, o filme acompanha uma jovem à deriva entre o luto e o desejo de contacto com o além. Assayas funde o thriller psicológico com o drama existencial, criando uma atmosfera etérea onde o medo nasce da espera, da dúvida e da ausência.

Neste quarto capítulo do Slow Horror, o terror é subtil, paciente e profundamente humano. São filmes onde a intrusão manifesta-se através de dispositivos de mediação – a câmara de vídeo, o telemóvel – que prolongam o olhar e a voz para além da presença física. Tanto Haneke como Assayas exploram a fragilidade das fronteiras entre o privado e o exterior, entre o visível e o invisível, sugerindo que o verdadeiro horror nasce menos da aparição do fantasma do que da impossibilidade de determinar a sua origem. In this edition, two films explore intrusion as an unseen power that disturbs, corrodes, and destabilizes.

In Caché, by Michael Haneke, the threat appears in the form of anonymous videotapes left at the doorstep of a bourgeois family. What begins as a mystery gradually unfolds into a disturbing spiral of paranoia and guilt. The fixed gaze of the camera—cold, distant, almost impersonal—transforms daily life into a field of permanent suspicion. Haneke constructs a moral and psychological terror in which what remains off-screen is as unsettling as what we see—or believe we see.

In Personal Shopper, by Olivier Assayas, intrusion takes on spiritual and technological contours. Through text messages, silences, and empty spaces, the film follows a young woman drifting between grief and the desire for contact with the beyond. Assayas blends psychological thriller with existential drama, creating an ethereal atmosphere in which fear emerges from waiting, doubt, and absence.
