GUIDEBOOK TO ESCAPE A FALSE NARRATIVE
Screenings

PROSA presents the "GUIDEBOOK TO ESCAPE A FALSE NARRATIVE" Screenings. This screening, set to take place over the next two months in Portugal, aims to provoke a profound reflection on disinformation and false narratives prevailing in our current environment, particularly in the face of populist attempts and right-wing extremism.

At this moment, disinformation can become a threat to our democracy, especially for narratively vulnerable audiences. This cycle seeks to alert viewers and society at large, using the power of cinema, to the importance of distinguishing between true and false narratives. The selected films explore themes resonating with current events, prompting reflections on the consequences of distorted and manipulated stories.
The "Guidebook to Escape a False Narrative" screenings does not seek to polarize by political colors but rather to safeguard access to the truth and preserve the integrity of our democracy. In a scenario where a false story can be wielded as a tool of manipulation, this cycle invites the audience to question and critically analyze the narratives that permeate our daily lives. As you watch these works, we invite each viewer to consider individual responsibility in building an informed and conscious society. Disinformation can be countered with the power of truth, critical analysis, and the search for reliable sources.
Our intention is to create a space for reflection and dialogue on the preservation and evolution of democracy. Cinema, as a form of artistic and social expression, provides a unique opportunity to address relevant issues and inspire civic action.

The Importance of Debate:
After each screening, we invite everyone to participate in post-film discussions where we will explore the nuances of the presented narratives and discuss strategies to confront disinformation in our current context.
PROSA Cultural Platform appreciates your joining us in this collective effort to preserve truth and build a more conscious and just society.
Thank you, and see you soon!
