Há sempre um alumbramento quando a vida nos invade.
Na sua intensidade, as sensações convidam-nos a ser inteiros.
E, na complexidade inquieta da perceção, é tão fácil sentir.
Compomos o mosaico dos estímulos e a memória faz o resto.
Em mim, tudo foram janelas abertas, vento norte, consistência táctil, aroma a marulhar e a fronteira da despedida.
O momento, o tempo há-de apagar, mas foi.

Por trás das imagens, por entre as imagens, o pensamento da conexão inteira, sem vedações guardiãs. Sem cercas. Como se o espaço e o tempo se debruçassem sobre si mesmos e descobrissem, no espanto inicial, a razão ingénua de tudo.

Na minha série de imagens está presente o lado simbólico dos momentos criativos com o Henrik, num trabalho que é um convite aos sentidos, para que na sua leitura outras novas sensações surjam.

Neste projeto fotográfico, senti que era importante enfatizar os aspetos percetivos das conexões humanas. A meu ver, a visão, a audição, o olfato, o paladar e o tato desempenham um papel importante nas relações sociais, tanto individualmente a nível associativo, como como experiência total. Nas minhas fotografias, procuro transmitir a minha análise pessoal do papel dos sentidos na formação das relações com outras pessoas. A primeira vez que se vê alguém nos olhos, o reconhecimento da voz, o cheiro a perfume, a partilha de uma refeição em conjunto e um aperto de mão firme são apenas alguns dos muitos exemplos de ligações sensoriais. Os sentidos são a própria base da formação das memórias. Memórias que podem durar a vida toda, se a impressão for forte o suficiente. Memórias que nos remetem para os bons e maus dias. Memórias dos outros e das experiências que partilhamos uns com os outros. Nesta série de fotos, fiz uma tentativa de representar os sentidos em cada foto.

There is always a light when life invades us.
In their intensity, sensations invite us to be whole.
And, in the restless complexity of perception, it is so easy to feel.
We compose the mosaic of stimuli and memory does the rest.
In me, everything was open windows, north wind, tactile consistency, the aroma of lapping and the border of farewell.
The moment, time will erase, but it was.

Behind the images, among the images, the thought of the entire connection, without guardian seals. No fences. As if space and time were leaning over themselves and discovering, in the initial astonishment, the naïve reason for everything.

In my series of images, the symbolic side of the creative moments with Henrik is present, in a work that is an invitation to the senses, so that in its reading other new sensations can arise.

In this photo project I felt it was important to emphasize the perceptual aspects of human connections. As I see it, sight, hearing, smell, taste and touch play a large role in social relations, both individually on an associative level, and as a total experience.

In my photographs, I try to convey my personal analysis of the role of the senses in the formation of relationships with other people. The first time you see someone in the eyes, recognition of one's voice, the smell of perfume, sharing a meal together and a firm handshake are just a few of many examples of sensory connections. The senses are the very foundation of the formation of memories. Memories that can last a lifetime, if the impression is strong enough. Memories that take us back to both good and bad days. Memories of others and the experiences we share with each other.

In this photo series, I have made an attempt to represent the senses in each photo. As a photographer, I prefer to experiment, precisely to make the production itself memorable. I need a creative process that I can think back on. Long exposures, homemade filters and things that Carla and I share memories of, such as Ginja and scented leaves, are part of this production. The final image in the series is a pure abstraction of the senses and memories blending together, - the creation of a connection.
